Spirituality has nothing to do with rituals, sermons or pujas

Spirituality has nothing to do with popes, priests or pujas.

Spirituality has nothing to do with the Bible, Quran or Bhagavad Gita.

Spirituality has nothing to do with the Church, Mosque or Temple.

So what is Spirituality?

Spirituality is the inner growth of your own consciousness. Like food to the body, our consciousness also needs nutrients to develop and grow. Wisdom is the nutrient for the growth and development of our consciousness.

MULADHARA CHAKRA (Birth Chakra - Earth Centre) Our inner energy called Kundalini Sakti is in the sleeping state at our Muladhara chakra, the base plexus which controls our reproductive glands Testes and Ovaries.  For this reason it is also called the sex centre.  Since reproduction takes place at this centre, it is also called birth chakra.  Muladhara chakra is at the tip of the Spine, Vertebral column and Kundalini shakti lies like a coiled serpent, where all our hereditary traits of all our births are coded in this centre. We pass the genes from generations to generations forming an unbroken chain of evolution and civilization. It thrives on sthul sharir (physical body). The basic trait and instinct is sexuality. The mantra of Muladhara chakra is Lam and its colour is red.

It is denoted by a four petalled flower and is the seat of Sakthi and Ganapathi.

SWADHISTHANA CHAKRA (Death Chakra - Water Centre) Above the Muladhara chakra is the Swadhisthana, which is also called death chakra. The consciousness of plants and animals do not go beyond these two chakras. They all take birth by the Muladhara chakra and die at the Swadhisthana. Millions of human beings also die at this chakra failing to go beyond animalistic traits. This chakra lies between navel and sex centre and controls Adrenal gland.

It thrives on Bhava sharir (Etheric body or emotional body) and the basic traits and instincts are fear, hate, anger, violence and greed. On meditation at this chakra these basic instincts are changed to fearlessness, love, compassion, non-violence and charity. The mantra of Swadhisthana chakra is Vam and its colour is orange.

It is denoted by a six petalled flower and is the seat of Brahma.

MANIPURA CHAKRA (Sentiments & Emotions - Fire Centre) is situated at the navel and thrives on our Shushma sharir (Intellectual body or Astral body). The basic traits and instincts of this chakra are doubts and repression of sentiments and emotions. Meditation on this chakra brings out trust and expressions. Suddenly the outflow of poetry, music and dance is found. It controls the pancreas and spleen.

The mantra of the Manipura chakra is RUMM and it helps digestion and to solve digestive problems. Meditation of RUMM mantra at manipura is very powerful in the Vajara Asna position. The colour of this chakra is yellow.

It is also called “Diamond Chakra” because it is very strong and sparks the bondage of Trust and Creativity in us. The aesthetic aspiration of a human being starts at this chakra and it is the stepping stone of spiritualism sliently giving a glimpse of the blue sky and the taste of our inner journey through meditation. Most creative peoples’ consciousness are developed to this state. It is denoted by a ten petalled flower and is the seat of Vishnu.

ANAHATHA CHAKRA (Heart - Air Centre) is situated at the heart, in the Manas sharir (Mental body or Psychic body) and it is the centre of Tantra physiology. The basic traits or instincts of this chakra will be imagination and dreaming. On contemplation at the heart Chakra, basic traits will be converted to determination and vision. At this state the ego completely melts giving way to universal love. It is said that the humming of Omkar vibrates mentally at this state. Most of the Saints, Sages and Swamis who are in the Bakthi marg (Devotional path) and their consciousness is developed to this stage.

Swami Chinmayananda says, “The end of ego is the ‘Mystic Death’ of the meditator”. The mantra of this chakra is Yam and colour is green. It controls the thymus gland.  It is denoted by a twelve petalled flower and is the seat of Rudhra.

VISHUDDHA OR VISHUDDI CHAKRA (Throat - Ether or Akash Centre) is situated at the throat, in the Atma sharir (spiritual body). Contemplation at this chakra purifies our soul and then God speaks through us. The universal love generated at the heart chakra purifies the soul or spiritual body, spreading serenity, tranquility, harmony, peace and solace to the whole of humanity. Divinity, purity and clarity in speech with a magnetic pull will be the striking feature of this state.

The mantra of Vishuddhi chakra is ‘Hum’ and colour is blue.

It controls the thyroid and parathyroid glands. It is denoted by a sixteen petalled flower and is the seat of Maheswari.

AGYA AND AJNA CHAKRA (Third eye - Awareness – Control of Senses) lies between the eyebrows, in the Brahma sharir (cosmic body) and controls pituitary and hypothalamus glands. The basic traits and instincts are Truth, Existence, Bliss, Sat- Chit- Ananda. It is also called the third eye where God’s will be your will.

The mantra of this chakra is “OHM” and the colour is Indigo. At this stage you shall be master of all universal truths and your cosmic body shall shower spiritual bliss. It is denoted by a two petalled flower and is the seat of Sadha Shiva.

SAHASRARA CHAKRA (Crown Chakra - Gateway to Absoluteness)  lies at the crown of the head in the Nirvana kaya (Nirvanic body or No body). It is the pinnacle point or ultimate of our consciousness where a thousand suns rise to lighten infinity of our nirvanic body. At this stage, a lotus of a thousand petals shall bloom above the pineal gland. The mantra of this chakra is again “Om” and the colour is violet. The basic instinct will be non-existence or non-being. It is denoted by a thousand petalled flower and is the seat of Shiva Shakthi.

Meditation, with the help of respective mantras, each flower denoted for that particular chakra, will open up spreading their colours. Blooming of these flowers will bring out the positive vibrations of our basic traits and instincts thereby balancing the secretions of the endocrine glands. The seven colours of these seven chakras form the spectrum of the rainbow: Violet, Indigo, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange and Red, thus forming VIBGYOR the harnessing of nature. The five elements of nature called Pancha Mahubutas, Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether/Akash are brought to harmony by meditating at the five chakras; Muladhara, Swadhisthana, Manipura, Anahatha and Vishuddha.

When the kundalini reaches Vishuddha chakra, even Mother nature would find it difficult to harm these people. Kundalini shall not slip down to the chakras below, after reaching Vishuddha chakra. You can even carry this state of transformed consciousness to your next birth and continue the spiritual journey to the next two chakras above. But if you remain below Vishuddha chakra, there is the chance of slipping down even to Muladhara chakra due to ones own misconduct, adharma and bad karma. This is called Tantra physiology and harmonizes Body, Mind and Soul with nature.  It is also known as the  ‘Art of Ecstasy’.

Needless to say, through the process of meditation, the life energy, Kundalini, sleeping in the Muladhara chakra, will rise-up and pass through these seven chakras and at the Sahasrar chakra, you shall achieve Nirvana, Samadhi, Thy kingdom come or Pure consciousness.

Your diseases may be many, but I have only one medicine. I have seen millions of people, millions of different questions,

And even before I hear their questions, I know the answer. I have never come across any other miracle than the miracle of meditation.           Osho.

This is Spirituality and its process is called Meditation where you will reach God or God will descend upon you and it has nothing to do with Religion.
